[14:49, 6/6/2018] Barrister Rhoda Kargbo Nuni: Sierra Leone Bar Association Notice

The General Membership is hereby informed that the formal handing over ceremony of the newly established sub treasury at the Fast Track Commercial Courts(FTCC) to the Judiciary will take place on Friday 8th June 2018 at 10:00 am.

The establishment of the sub treasury was an initiative of the Sierra Leone Bar Association supported by the Judiciary and the National Revenue Authority to ease filing of processes at the said Courts for practitioners.

This has reduced the time and cost of filing court processes at the FTCC from an average of 2.7 days to less than 0.6 days.

This reduction in cost and time to file court processes has in turn impacted positively on Sierra Leone’s rating in the World Bank Doing Business Indicators.

Refurbishment and equipping of the room that now houses the sub treasury was done by the Sierra Leone Bar Association.

The sub treasury is fully computerized with scanning, photocopying and printing facilities available.

This project was undertaken in line with the Association’s commitment to support the Judiciary’s efforts in enhancing efficient justice delivery.

Another project undertaken by the Association at the High Court Presided over by Justice Manuela Harding at Ross Road Courts involved the provision of a raised Judge’s dais & witness box for the said courtroom.
